Horseback Riding

Equine therapy offers a range of both mental and physical benefits including (but not limited to): help with ADD and anxiety, motor skills, memory and speech, stress, balance and coordination, circulation, flexibility and muscle strength. Here at Longing for Home, we have a number of horseback riding options, for children and adults alike, that will aid in whatever therapy they may need, or if they just want the chance to pursue a fun hobby.

Horse Training

Colts & Fillies (up to 6 years old)

PRIVATE LESSONS

One on one sessions with one of our qualified instructors teach your child the equestrian basics in a fun and safe way (must book time slot in advanced):

30 minuets: $50/session

60 minuets: $100/session

GROUP LESSONS

Sessions with other children and two of our qualified instructors teach your child the equestrian basics in a fun and safe way (must book time slot in advanced): 

30 minutes: $35/session

60 minuets: $70/session  

CORRAL RIDE

A staff member/volunteer walk your child and horse around the pony stable corral with a lead rope (must book time slot at least 15 minuets in advanced): 

10 minutes: $10/person

20 minutes: $15/person  

TRAIL RIDE

Staff members accompany a group of children and horses on the Colts & Fillies Trail, with a lead rope (must book time slot at least 15 minuets in advanced): 

Half Trail: $20/person

Full Trail: $25/person

Yearlings (7 to 17 years old)

INTRO EVAL

Receive a session where you get to know our instructors and horses, while we get to know you and evaluate your abilities to determine which riding program you would best fit into: 

60 Minuet Session: $60

LEVEL ONE

This is designed for beginners, focused on horse care/safety to build confidence and the fundamentals (must book time slot in advanced): 

Private: $75/session

Group: $55/session  

LEVEL TWO

This is designed for intermediates, advancing their skills to work horses at a walk, trot and canter (must book time slot  in advanced): 

Private: $85/session

Group: $65/session  

LEVEL THREE

This is designed for competitors, preparing horse and rider for the show pen and deepening their connection (must book time slot in advanced): 

Private: $95/session

Group: $75/session

CORRAL/TRAIL

Riders can choose the corral or trail they want depending on comfort

Half Trail: $25/person

Full Trail: $30/person

Mares & Stallions (18+ years old)

INTRO EVAL
